Mobile features

Nexus in your pocket: edit your chatbox setup, chat with the community, and check your stats from your phone. Changes sync through your Nexus account to your Meta Quest headset.

The app has five tabs in the bottom bar: Presets, Chat, Promos, Stats and Profile.

Coming soon

The Android (mobile) app is in development and is not available to download yet.

Account

  • Sign in with your Nexus account. The session is kept in secure storage on the phone
  • Sign out from the presets screen, which clears the saved account from the phone
  • Profile card with your avatar, username, role and any extra roles
  • Email shown masked, with a button to reveal it, and whether it is verified
  • Checks for a newer phone build on launch and opens the download when one is ready

Chatbox presets

  • See every chatbox preset, with the active one marked
  • Create a new preset, duplicate one under a new name, or delete one
  • Set the active preset from the list
  • Edit a preset's settings in the preset editor
  • Sync now, with a status line that shows when you are up to date, when changes are saved, or when you are offline
  • Pulls the headset's changes every 30 seconds while the screen is open, and again when you return to the app
  • Offline editing: changes are kept on the phone and sent once you are back online, with retries that back off up to five minutes
  • Conflict resolution: when a preset changed on both the phone and the headset, you choose which version to keep. Choices you leave open keep the phone's version

Chatbox integrations

  • Every chatbox feature from the Quest app, grouped the same way as on the headset
  • Turn each integration on or off
  • Open an integration to change its settings: switches, numbers, text, masked secret fields, multi-line lists, name lists and drop-down choices
  • Changes reach the headset at its next sync. Open Nexus on your Quest once so it can share its integrations with the phone

Global chat

  • Read the community chat, refreshed every few seconds while the tab is open
  • Send messages of up to 500 characters
  • Each line shows the sender's avatar, name, role badge and time, with an "(edited)" tag where it applies
  • Messages from the same person within two minutes share one header
  • Reply previews, and "message removed" where the original was deleted
  • Dismiss error messages from the banner
  • The server places you in the chat room for your age group, the same as on the Quest

Group promotions

  • Browse the VRChat groups promoted in Nexus, the same list the Quest shows
  • Search by group name, promoter, description or tag
  • Open a group's details: icon, promoter, member count, description and tags
  • Open the group in your browser, or copy its link
  • Moderators get a review queue with the number of pending applications, where they can approve or reject each one

Statistics and leaderboard

  • Your time in Nexus and your leaderboard rank
  • Community hub totals: presets, share packs and OSC scripts shared by the community
  • The top five on the leaderboard, with a "See all" button
  • Leaderboard boards for All, PC and Quest, with medals for the top three
  • Your own row is highlighted, and pinned at the bottom when you are outside the visible list
  • The leaderboard refreshes every minute while it is open

Stays on your headset

Some features depend on the headset's device or VRChat session, so they are not on the phone:

  • Applying group promotions
  • The "active right now" count, since a phone would count as an active headset
  • Device-only tiles such as favourites and avatars worn
  • Changing your profile picture, email or PIN
